Summary: A man is invited to the house of an acquaintance but the latter is nervous and, later on, is found dead.

John Scott Eccles meets a man called Garcia and is invited to his house. Garcia is nervous and the evening unpleasant. In the morning, Scott Eccles finds that Garcia and the servants have disappeared.

Later on, Garcia is found dead on a Oxshott Common.

Explanation (spoiler alert)

Garcia had been part of a group attempting to assassinate a hated Central American leader, Murillo, and had intended to use Scott Eccles as an alibi. Garcia was murdered Murillo.
