Summary: A woman's fiancé disappears from a cab while on the way to their wedding.

A woman, who gives most of her income, to her parents, meets a man and they become engaged. They meet before making their way to their wedding, the man climbing into a separate cab. When they arrive at the church, the man's cab is empty.

Explanation (spoiler alert)

The fiancé was actually the woman's stepfather in disguise. His aim was to prevent her marrying anyone else and taking her income away with her.
